We tried not to, we thought it might not happen, but can at last tell you that a new musical is on its way! ZAC, the story of Zacchaeus (from Luke 19:1-10), is starting to appear, and Roger has already completed several songs. It has been incredibly exciting how the writing has blossomed in the last couple of months!
We are excited about this story because it shows how Jesus is always passing through, waiting for us to go after him, maybe “climb a tree” in order to get close, and then invites us to come down into a deeper presence. This wonderful gospel story shows how, when Jesus is let loose amongst us, he has the power to save!
Please keep the premiere date of Saturday 28th September. Our families, the whole CMM office team of Tim, Annie, Sophie and Jane, and many associates will be very involved in this, not forgetting the wonderful work of lyricist Alison Fuggle, and producer Chris King. George Hicks has already started work on a cover design, ready for Andrew to complete the artwork. Above all, please pray that Jesus will be at the centre of it all!
“For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)
We have plans to rehearse and record ZAC, and will soon be auditioning for solos, arranging rehearsals, including a church recording afternoon on Saturday 20th July – details to follow soon!
This new musical has come about after much thought and prayer. We are confident in the Lord’s leading in this. However I have to draw your attention to the fact that with costs rising and the CD market receding, the budget for making the recording is extremely high. Therefore we are asking whether you might consider partnering with us in this venture. Any donation large or small is equally valuable. If you feel you are able to help with this, please follow the link to the fundraiser https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-us-fund-a-new-roger-jones-musical
We had a fabulous day at Catshill Baptist Church on Saturday the 2nd of March celebrating 40 years of Christian Music Ministries. The church was packed with friends and supporters, old and new. It was a blessed and affirming time.
We played a video of tributes from some key CMM associates during the service. This is now available on YouTube and you can find it HERE
