Dear Friends
We’ve just had a great music week at Beechwood Court based around WILDFIRE, the story of St Stephen. It was so good to share the story and sing the musical through on the last night! We have also just led a lovely Spirit-filled weekend in Hutton, Weston-super-Mare with a MUSICAL MAN evening where I share my story with songs from the shows, followed by a Sunday morning where I preached and led praise. We had a similar weekend at St Ann’s, Rainhill, Merseyside. These type of weekends are such a joy to do and a great privilege to share with local folk.
Coming up soon will be our music week at Scargill (North Yorks), already fully booked with a waiting list, but we also look forward to leading a Retreat Week (23-27 October) at The Pleasaunce, Overstrand, Norfolk. Go to to book or ring 01492 593 405.
Here’s an advance thought for Harvest. Peter Lawrence produced a great resource for all-ages with SQUIDGY BOD GOES TO CHURCH, including a full-colour children’s book, PowerPoint presentation and my song “Not too hot – we thank you Lord for our planet” with sheet music, recording and backing track. You can order this from https://www.cmm.org.uk/shop/index.php?id=sgtc
We are also thrilled to announce that, after this year’s great event, (see highlights below) we shall again be holding an APPLEDORE CHRISTIAN MUSIC FESTIVAL on 17-19 May 2024. We already have certain guests lined up, including Paul Jones (Manfred Man vocalist) and his wife Fiona Hendley, and we shall soon announce further participants. But do book the date! Finally, under the splendid Musical Directorship of my colleague Annie Routley, the CMM CHOIR recently concluded their 25th Anniversary Presentations, including a very special evening at Holy Trinity Lickey. Our friend Clive Rushton managed to video the evening which included songs from many of our musicals and testimonies from choir members and others associated with the choir. It was very special, with great memories. You can view this on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpHD4Wqswdk
